Position Overview
Theatre By The Sea (TBTS) is seeking a Technical Director for its 2026 summer season. This role oversees the safe, efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of scenic elements for a four-show musical season. Scenery is primarily designed and built offsite; the Technical Director focuses on load-ins, assembly, troubleshooting, show support, crew supervision, and scenic maintenance.
A.C.T. of CT is seeking overhire crew to assist with load-out for our current production of FROZEN in Ridgefield, CT. Attendance of all calls is preferred but not required, please give your availability in your email.

Assistant Technical Director for the 2026 Season. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Technical Director with supervising and executing the build of all pertinent mainstage productions and cabaret productions when necessary; Drafting build documents, creating detailed build schedule, and coordinating with the Production Manager, PSM, and Director and Producer regarding all aspects of the set build; Running change-over and helping coordinate technical rehearsal; Coordinating and assisting with Playhouse setup and Playhouse maintenance as needed.
The John W. Engeman Theater is currently seeking a LOCAL PART-TIME ATD. We are looking for technicians and carpenters with experience in any/all fields (Lighting, Sound, and Carpentry.) Having experience in multiple fields is a plus. We have shows running all year around. Candidates will be working in our scenic shop in Ronkonkoma as well as a 400 seat Proscenium theater.
