Wardrobe Supervisor (Theater)
The smash-hit burlesque parody, The Empire Strips Back, is coming to San Francisco. NX5 Theatrical is now accepting submissions for an experienced Wardrobe Supervisor.
THE SHOW
Combining comedy and dance, The Empire Strips BAck, has a cast of 11 and is a stunning visual treat. See theempirestripsback.cpm for more about the show.
SALARY
$1200 weekly.
This includes up to 40 work hours with overtime being awarded for any hours worked beyond the initial 40.
We are seeking candidates local to the San Francisco area.

Please note that the schedule varies week to week through the run of show.
Shows may be added up to eight shows a week Wednesday - Sunday during the run.
ROLE
This position manages the day-to-day operations of the wardrobe stock and costumes and maintains the artistic integrity and vision of The Empire Strips Back. Duties include:
- Maintaining costumes during the performance period including, but not limited to: making repairs, doing laundry, shoe polishing, latex mask and prosthetics maintenance.
- Assisting performers in dressing into costumes and facilitate quick changes.
- Entering and exiting stage between acts to do pickups, collect costume pieces, and assist performers.
- Maintaining a calm, professional demeanor for performers in your care.
- Fitting and altering costumes for new cast members when required.
- Maintaining the integrity of the production costume design.
- Maintaining inventory of sewing supplies and communicate needs in a timely manner.
(Please note: Water-based haze is used during some rehearsals and all performances.)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- Experience working wardrobe crew on productions
- Experience working with costume machinery, hand sewing, and machine sewing
- Experience working with latex, silicone and foam a plus
Must have a team-oriented personality, be respectful of others at all times, and be safety conscious for yourself and for others. Due to the nature of the production, we expect a high level of personal and professional conduct, and ask that all employees abide by our production-specific HR handbook and social media guidelines.
This position consistently works: in darkened environments; with costume changes that include stooping, kneeling, or crouching; with costume machinery; ascending/descending stairs.
