Shawnee Theatre is seeking a Costume Shop Stitcher + Backstage Crew member for our summer season.

This position will work primarily in the costume shop, assisting with sewing, alterations, fittings, costume construction, repairs, and wardrobe organization. During performances, the position will also work backstage as part of the show crew, assisting with quick changes, wardrobe changes, costume maintenance, and other backstage needs.

Responsibilities Include:
Sewing and altering costumes
Assisting with costume construction and fittings
Mending and making repairs
Steaming, pressing, laundry, and general wardrobe maintenance
Organizing and preparing costumes for performances
Assisting actors with quick changes backstage
Providing wardrobe support during performances
Helping with general backstage/show crew duties as needed
We are looking for someone who is comfortable sewing, dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced theatre environment. Previous costume or theatre experience is preferred, but strong sewing skills and a willingness to learn are welcome.
