$35,000- $42,000 per month
Oversees the technical components of each main stage show or event. Works with directors and designers to create a cohesive design. Maintains assigned technical budget for each show or event. Responsible for the purchasing of materials for building within budget. Responsible for purchase of on-going supplies (gaff tape, screws, etc). Leads a team of volunteers in the construction and painting of each show by teaching techniques and overseeing safe practices. Schedules and assists in the "hang and focus" of lighting for each event. Oversees the purchase and completion of props for each show and event within budget. Assists with communication between lighting/sound designers and directors to ensure all lighting and sound effect components are in place. Meets with directors in pre-production and production regularly to ensure all components are as they need to be. Works with stage management in production to meet director's needs.
Responsible for creating a technical team for each show or event. Responsible for recruiting technical volunteers and following up with those who express interest in being a technical volunteer (i.e., builders, painters, sound and light ops, etc). Assists directors in choosing a light designer, set designer, sound designer, and properties master. Responsible for communicating with department heads. Gathers stagehand crew as needed per production.
Maintains the safety and cleanliness of construction and storage areas including, but not limited to, the scene shop, costume storage, off-site warehouse storage, prop room, and control booth. Maintains all tools and supplies for construction. Maintenance on lighting fixtures and lamps for the theatre.
Performs routine maintenance on the building as needed and available. Changing lightbulbs and air filters, wall hangings, fixing broken fixtures in restrooms and hallways, etc.
Assists directors during auditions and the casting process. Available in whatever capacity directors need on audition days. Consults about technical specifications of casting as needed.
Responsible for the cleanliness of the theatre pre-show. Ensures stage space is clean and safe for actors before performances. Assists with cleaning, sweeping, and mopping the house between shows and especially between show weekends.
