Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), a multi-venue Tony award-winning LORT B+ theatre, seeks an Assistant Audience Experience Manager for the 2026-2027 season. Under the direction of the Audience Experience Manager, this position supports all Front of House operations, serves as a Manager on Duty in the absence of the Audience Experience Manager and is responsible for providing exceptional service to STC+rsquo;s guests. Responsibilities for this position include coaching and supervision of part-time house managers, preparing documents such as usher and VIP check in sheets, assisting with communication with ushers via email regarding scheduling and expectations. Other responsibilities include training and guiding ushers, greeting and seating patrons, confidently discussing our shows and events, and maintaining a high level of customer care and safety. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and a bi-weekly salary of $1,923.08 - $2,038.47; the dates of employment will be October 1, 2026 +ndash; June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will have superior people skills, and a demonstrated commitment to world-class customer service. Essential qualities include an upbeat and positive manner, ability to work both independently and collaboratively, comfort in a fast paced environment and demonstrated skill working quickly, accurately, and calmly under pressure, skill at resolving issues in a positive and respectful manner while valuing the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Must be able to confidently lead and direct large crowds. A background in face-to-face customer service is preferred, experience assisting customers with access needs desired, knowledge of theatre is a plus. Must be available weeknights and weekends. Must be able to lift 15 lbs., be able to navigate stairs, and be at least 18 years of age. Some experience with Tessitura for house management, Sign-Up Genius and Homebase (or other scheduling software) helpful but not required. Employee is required to have the ability to complete First Aid/CPR/AED trainings and crowd control training.
