TITLE: Fabricator

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt / Hourly Employee

REPORTS TO: Shop Foreman, Scenic Operations Manager

DEPARTMENT: Carpentry + Metal Fabrication

SCHEDULE: Monday+ndash;Friday, 7:00 AM+ndash;3:00 PM. Overtime as project timelines require.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Build from shop drawings and sketches issued by the Foreperson or Project/Production Management
- Take accurate measurements and pull the correct materials for each build
- Operate shop equipment safely and follow all shop safety procedures
- Cut, assemble, and finish exhibit and scenic units to spec
- Support layout and fit-up of completed units
- Prep, wrap, and label finished units for packing and installation
- Stay aligned with the Lead/Foreman on project scope and priorities
- Keep your work area organized and safe
- Flag problems early and think through solutions with the bigger project in mind

WHAT YOU BRING:
- 2+ years of hands-on fabrication experience in a professional shop setting
- Solid blueprint and shop drawing literacy
- Physically able to lift and maneuver materials/units up to 50 lbs
- Self-directed work style with the ability to hit deadlines
- Working knowledge of wood fabrication methods and standards
- Basic metal fabrication skills
- Clear, reliable communication with the team
- A can-do attitude on the shop floor
