Position Overview:

The National Tour of The Book of Mormon is seeking applications for a Head Carpenter.

Role and Responsibilities:

Carpentry (Head): The Head Carpenter is responsible for advancing with venues, loading in and out the show, ensuring the performances run safely, acting as the supervisor for the touring crew (between 8-16 crew), tracking Overtime hours for payroll, coordinating with the trucking company and is the supervisor of the local provided labor crew (which can range from 35-60 people). This position is the supervisor of every member in all technical departments.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

- Team player, able to work long hours in very close quarters, problem solving skills, proactive, goal oriented, excellent communication skills.
- Touring experience is preferred but not required.
- At least two (2) years' experience in the requested Department or three (3) years of related experience in a technical role within a theatrical operation.

Work Environment:

This role is expected to help create a professional work environment and is required to work in a variety of locations and venues. Must be able to travel, and work evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to adapt to multiple buildings / theater venues. Must be able to be on their feet throughout the show and traverse several flights of stairs. Must be able to travel in multiple modes of transportation, including planes, trains, charter and sleeper coaches, and cars.

Salary:

Salary includes Base Salary plus all applicable overage and overtime per IATSE/Non-League Bus + Truck "M" Agreement.

Base Salary: Department Head: $1,500 per week

Travel + Housing:

Per IATSE/Non-League Bus + Truck "M" Agreement.

Start Date:

Immediate Replacement - On or about September 4, 2026
