Iron Crow Theatre is seeking a Scenic Designer for our upcoming production of The Rocky Horror Show+mdash;the first fully staged production in Iron Crow Theatre+rsquo;s new permanent home at 2600 N. Howard Street in Baltimore. We+rsquo;re looking for a designer with a bold imagination who is excited by the opportunity to help us discover what our new space can do.

This will not be a traditional proscenium production. Our Rocky Horror will be fully immersive, transforming the theatre and surrounding audience environment into the world of the show. We+rsquo;re interested in a design that feels theatrical, provocative, surprising, and completely at home in Rocky+rsquo;s universe+mdash;while embracing the intimacy and possibilities of our new venue.

The Scenic Designer will collaborate closely with the Producing Artistic Director and production team to develop a complete scenic concept and design package that can be realized by Iron Crow Theatre. The scope will include concept development, ground plans/elevations and other necessary design documentation, material and finish selections, and collaboration through the design and build process.

As a small company just growing into our first home, this is a flat-fee, project-based design contract. The designer is not expected to personally construct the scenery, though collaboration with the production/build team throughout realization of the design will be required. If local and able to assist, we will compensate for additional build time.

This is more than the design of a single production. It is the first opportunity to transform Iron Crow Theatre+rsquo;s new home through scenic design and help establish what audiences will come to expect when they walk through our doors.
