AV Engineer (A1)

Position Overview

Reporting to Roulette+rsquo;s Technical Director and Production Managers, and working closely with performing artists and rental clients producing events at Roulette, AV Engineers are responsible for mixing live sound for performances and special events. A1s alternate between mixing for live, in-person audiences and mixing for a virtual audience via Roulette+rsquo;s livestreams.

Responsibilities

Setting up and striking A/V equipment in a safe, effective and professional manner
Mixing and recording audio for live concerts/events and live stream videos
Creating monitor mixes onstage for performers
Troubleshooting and fixing A/V issues that arise along the way
Understanding technical requirements and selecting appropriate A/V equipment, micing techniques, etc. for concerts/events
Acting as a Point-of-Contact to artists and clients during events; coordinating with other staff members to ensure production needs are met and events are on schedule
Basic programming + operating of ETC Ion XE lighting console (instruction/training available)
Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a seasoned audio engineer with experience mixing live performances and in-depth knowledge of A/V equipment and microphone selection. Familiarity with digital and analog consoles, internal and outboard processing equipment, RF mic systems, networked systems and high-quality multitrack recording environment (e.g. Yamaha CL5 console, A+H SQ6 console, Shure ULXD wireless, Dante network, condenser, ribbon and dynamic mics) strongly preferred. Experience with ETC Ion / EOS family lighting system is a plus.

The ability to work evenings and weekends is required. Familiarity with contemporary experimental music, dance, and media arts is strongly preferred.

Compensation

This position is part-time and is not eligible for benefits. Starting compensation is $35/hr.
