We are looking for an experienced scenic carpenter to join our team working in the Scene Shop for the Department of Theatre + Dance at Wayne State University.

Typical hours are M-F 10AM - 6PM with occasional evening and weekend hours for scenery load in and strike.

Primary duties are carpentry, but welding and rigging experience are a plus. A desire to work with and help educate students is also helpful, as most of our shop staff are graduate and undergraduate students.

In the coming year we will produce 6 theatre productions (2 of them will rep on the same set with minimal changes) and a handful of smaller dance productions.

This is a full time, non benefited position, on a 9 month contract.
