Frost Productions is seeking an experienced and dependable Freelance A1 Audio Engineer to join our event production team. The ideal candidate is passionate about live events, excels in high-pressure environments, and has extensive experience mixing live audio for corporate meetings, galas, conferences, concerts, and special events.

This position works closely with our production managers, clients, and technical crews to deliver exceptional audio experiences while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Responsibilities

Serve as the lead audio engineer (A1) for live events.

Program, configure, and operate digital audio consoles.

Manage wireless microphone systems, RF coordination, playback, and show cueing.

Mix live presentations, panel discussions, awards shows, concerts, and corporate productions.

Work with presenters, performers, and clients to ensure excellent sound quality.

Supervise and direct A2 technicians and stage audio crews when assigned.

Assist with audio system setup, testing, troubleshooting, and strike.

Ensure all equipment is maintained and handled properly.

Collaborate with lighting, video, staging, and production teams to execute seamless events.

Troubleshoot technical issues quickly while maintaining composure under pressure.

Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional live event audio experience.

Strong knowledge of digital mixing consoles such as Yamaha, Allen + Heath, DiGiCo, Avid, Midas, or similar platforms.

Experience with wireless microphone systems, RF coordination, DSP, and signal flow.

Ability to read audio plots, stage plots, and event documentation.

Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout New England.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
