Position Summary
The Composites Technician is responsible for producing high-quality composite parts, molds, and tooling using a variety of materials, processes, and equipment. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Position Responsibilities
-Produce composite elements using hand layup methods and machine/chopper gun spray techniques
-Manufacture FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) and silicone molds from foam sculpts
-Cut, trim, and process composite tooling and finished parts
-Properly prepare parts for spray coatings and final assembly
-Use HVLP spray systems to apply mold releases, primers, and other coatings
-Apply polyurethane hard-coat systems to foam sculpts
+middot; Develop and maintain a working knowledge of commonly used composite materials
-Properly care for and maintain materials, tools, and equipment to maximize usable lifespan
-Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
General Responsibilities
-Achieve and maintain working knowledge of Company operational software
-Accurately complete and track production elements using company quality control (QC) documentation
-Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) for all assigned tasks
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
-Consistently meet the Company+rsquo;s expected quality standards
-Effectively multitask and prioritize objectives to meet production deadlines
