The Red Demon Production Manager/ Production Stage Manager will oversee the production of Red Demon being presented as part of a Japanese Program/Theatre Department course. They will coordinate schedules, budgets, personnel, and equipment to ensure that the rehearsals are executed safely, efficiently, and according to academic and artistic goals.
The Red Demon PM/PSM will be supervised by the Theatre Department Chair and report to the Department Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning + Coordination
-Develop and manage production schedules, timelines, and deadlines.
-Coordinate communication among directors, designers, stage managers, technical staff, and producers.
-Organize and support the audition and call back process.
-Organize production meetings and maintain production documentation.
-Oversee the implementation of scenic, lighting, sound, projection, costume, and properties designs.
-Coordinate load-ins, technical rehearsals, performances, and strike activities.
-Ensure all technical elements are installed and functioning properly.
-Attend Rehearsals, Technical Rehearsals and performances, as needed, to fulfill responsibilities.
-Coordinate the house management and RSVP process.
Budget Management
-Create and monitor production budgets.
-Approve production-related expenditures and track costs.
-Ensure productions remain within budget while maintaining quality standards.
Safety + Compliance
-Enforce workplace safety standards and emergency procedures.
-Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
-Address health and safety concerns during rehearsals and performances.
-Coordinate with Public Safety in the admission of guests to campus and create the visitor list for the Visitors Center.
Student Mentorship
-Mentor student stage managers and run crew to prepare them for rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances.
Performance Venue
The production will be presented in the Rita Goldberg Studio (HN 537) at Hunter College. The studio is a 50-seat black box theater with an 8'grid.

Commencing September 14th and ending December 11th
Mondays 5:30 to 8:30pm
Fridays 2:30pm to 5:15pm

Monday, Nov 23rd - 5:30pm to 9:30pm
Tuesday, November 24th - 6:15pm to 9:30pm
Monday, Nov 30th - 5:30pm to 9:30pm
Tuesday, Dec 1st - 6:15pm to 9:30pm
December 2nd, 5:30pm to 9:30pm
Dress Rehearsal - (7:30pm Curtain)
