-Role Description
This seasonal Carpenter / Install Technician role is an on-site position based in the Richmond, VA and Williamsburg area. The role involves building and installing scenic elements and structures from plans and shop drawings, including cutting, framing, and assembling components using carpentry techniques. In addition to carpentry tasks the role also involves installing, striking and organizing general decor. Daily tasks include operating hand tools and power tools, performing finish carpentry, and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards. The Carpenter / Install Technician will prepare pieces for transport, assist with loading and unloading materials, and participate in on-site installations at client locations. There are also opportunities for fabrication work in our Richmond, Va workshop. The role involves collaborating with other team members, following project timelines, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and supporting troubleshooting and adjustments during installs.
-Qualifications
Strong carpentry skills, including framing and general construction techniques.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with a focus on safe and proper operation.
Experience in finish carpentry, including precise measuring, cutting, and detailing.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and measurements accurately.
Other fabrication skills like painting, carving, welding and design are also a plus.
Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety and quality.
Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials, and to work on ladders or scaffolding as needed.
Some use of articulating boom lifts and other personnel lifts is required. If you are not certified certification will be provided for by us.
Reliable transportation to the Richmond, VA workshop, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and local installation sites.
Previous experience in scenic fabrication, construction, or a related trade is preferred.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
