Wardrobe Tech and Stitcher (Theater)
The smash-hit burlesque parody, A Nightmare on Strip Street, is coming to Phoenix. NX5 Theatrical is now accepting submissions for an experienced Wardrobe Tech and Stitcher.

DATES
Thursday, July 30: Stitching Call, 10:00 am - 10:00 pm (unpaid lunch and dinner breaks)
$28 per hour
Saturday, August 1: Training, two shows - 5:00 pm call
$150 per show
Show Run: Two days or three shows a week, typically Wednesday (one show or work call) and Saturday (two shows). Flexible based on candidate availability.

SHOW SCHEDULE
Monday and Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: 3:00 pm work call, 7:30 pm curtain
Thursday: 5:30 pm show call, 7:30 pm curtain
Friday: 5:00 pm show call, 7:00 pm curtain
Saturday: 5:00 pm show call, 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm curtain
Sunday: 2:00 pm show call, 4:00 pm curtain
Please note the Wardrobe Tech is present for two to three shows a week, not every show day. Typical schedule is Wednesday (one show or work call) and Saturday (two shows), but can be flexible based on candidate availability.
The Wardrobe Tech will also train as the sub for the Wardrobe Supervisor on their show track. This is not an on-call position. The Wardrobe Tech may accept offered coverage dates at their discretion and availability.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assists in the management of the day-to-day operations of the production wardrobe stock and costumes.
Duties include:
- Maintaining costumes under the direction of the Wardrobe Supervisor, including: making repairs, doing laundry, shoe polishing, latex mask and prosthetics maintenance.
- Assisting performers in dressing into costumes and facilitating quick changes during technical rehearsals, dance calls, and performances
- Entering and exiting stage between acts to do pickups, collect costume pieces, and assist performers.
- Fitting and altering costumes for cast members and subs when required.
- Maintaining the integrity of the production costume design.
- Assisting with inventory and organization of expendable items, gear, and tools as needed.
- Maintaining a calm, professional demeanor for performers in your care.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- Experience working wardrobe crew on productions
- Experience working with costume machinery, hand sewing, and machine sewing
- Experience working with beading, rhinestones, and lingerie helpful
This position consistently works: in darkened environments; with costume changes that include stooping, kneeling, or crouching; with costume machinery; ascending/descending stairs.
The wardrobe crew must be respectful of others at all times, be safety conscious, and demonstrate a focus on team work and collaboration. Due to the sensitive nature of this production, we demand a high level of professional conduct.
Please note: Water-based haze and strobing lighting effects are used during rehearsals and performances.
