Job Title: Lighting Designer + Board Operator (Limited Run)
Location: Chicago - Lincoln Park. Athenaeum Center Theatre
Production Type: Black Box, one person show

Job Description:
Seeking a collaborative Lighting Designer / Board Operator for an established 60-minute solo show that has toured festivals around the country. The production already has an existing QLab cue file and lighting structure, so the work involves adapting and refining the design for the venue rather than creating a new show from scratch.
Working closely with the performer, you'll help shape the final aesthetic, program the lighting looks, and execute the cues during the run. The show features a straightforward cue structure and is designed for an efficient tech process, making it an excellent opportunity for a designer-programmer who enjoys collaborative, story-driven theater without an extensive programming commitment.

Schedule / Time Commitment:
+bull; Design Consultation/Prep: 1 or 2 hour phone consult
+bull; Tech Rehearsal: Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (Time TBD)
+bull; Performance 1: Friday, September 11, 2026 @ 7:00 PM
+bull; Performance 2: Saturday, September 12, 2026 @ 7:00 PM
+bull; Performance 3: Sunday, September 13, 2026 @ 5:00 PM
* Additional show may be added on Thursday, September 8, TBD

Requirements:
+bull; Lighting Design Experience: Proven ability to make creative lighting choices, establish mood, and build a cohesive look for a 1-hour show.
+bull; ETC Ion Familiarity: Must be comfortable programming and operating the ETC Ion console.
+bull; QLab Proficiency: Strong knowledge of QLab.
+bull; Excellent communication skills and the ability to work quickly during a condensed tech process.
Compensation:
+bull; $45.00 per hour (Paid for all design consultation, tech, and performance hours).
