Deck Electrician

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Deck Electrician for our 2026 Season productions including City of Angels, The Producers, and Small Town.

Looking for an immediate replacement to start as early as Friday, July 17, 2026 and work through to the end of season on Sunday, November 8, 2026

Potential extension opportunity to work on Mary Poppins at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH. This would be a separate contract with an end date of Wednesday, December 23, 2026.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Stage crew experience is required and various other production skills are encouraged.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):
- Run each performance (8 shows/week). Facilitate scene changes + operate flying scenery. Facilitate prop handoffs, strike + set props onstage. Support any and all onstage electrics needs/responsibilities for duration of performance. Run/troubleshoot onstage automation throughout run as required by needs of the show.
- Support electrics department for show calls assisting with presets including channel check and set electrics repair.
- Throughout the run, maintain backstage inventory and tracking paperwork related to set electrics and atmospherics.
- Assist Head Stage Carpenter with repairs or adjustments during the performance or between acts.
- Support weekly work calls to maintain electrics inventory and infrastructure including organization, battery maintenance, upkeep, and other duties as assigned. Support with repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of conventional and automated lighting equipment.
- Assist the Head Electrician and Asst. Head Electrician with execution of lighting plots.
- Working knowledge of video and projections is helpful. This includes experience with Disguise media servers, SDI signal routing, LED walls, and large venue projectors.
- Additional experience in automated rigging control, deck automation (i.e. Creative Conners systems), pneumatic systems, and hydraulics is desirable.
Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary.
- Assist with Arts Academy changeovers as required.
- Additional hours running events and Arts Academy Shows.
- Possess flexibility and positive backstage demeanor working with actors and other crew.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Job requires ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, and bend, stoop, or kneel in execution of duties as assigned.
- Job requires ability to lift, carry, move necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions.
- Unconventional hours may be required.

Position is a W2, $21/hr plus O/T and housing included.

Ogunquit Playhouse will now be offering Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee+rsquo;s company sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee+rsquo;s expense. Employees who work the Ogunquit Playhouse+rsquo;s entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
