POSITION SUMMARY
Apeiro Design is seeking a Senior Associate: Project Manager to work directly with Associate Principals and Principals to support project management, systems design, documentation, and consulting services. This role manages and supports projects of varying size and complexity, with responsibilities that include project management, design, technical documentation, client coordination, and business development support. The position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, documentation skills, and interpersonal communication. Domestic and international travel may be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Associate: Project Manager will be responsible for the following:
Work on multiple projects of varying size and complexity at the same time.
Provide primary project management duties for significant clients in collaboration with Principals and studio staff.
Coordinate and collaborate with design staff, architects, and engineers outside the office.
Provide concise and consistent recordkeeping throughout all project phases.
Maintain positive and productive relationships with clients, including owners, developers, and architects.
Support timely deliverables within project schedules.
Help complete projects within scoped services to support profitability.
Monitor, review, and revise compliance testing documents for systems within Apeiro Design+rsquo;s scope of work.
Work across multiple areas and disciplines of a project at the same time.
Participate in theatrical systems design in a lead design capacity, with an emphasis on theatrical lighting systems preferred.
Create CAD and Revit documents when needed to support production staff.
Prepare and edit specifications for technical systems.
Lead development of project work, technical standards, and deliverables.
Review shop drawings and submittal drawings.
Actively support development and procurement of new business for the firm.
Support repeat business with existing clients.
Develop peer relationships that may lead to future business.
Perform assigned duties to the best of ability and observe obligations to the firm.
Protect the security and confidentiality of project and intellectual property information.
Adhere to requirements documented in the employee handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Qualified candidates should have the following skills and competencies:
Strong computer skills, including 7+ years of experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
Experience with SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Deep understanding of theatrical lighting power and control systems.
Familiarity with audio, video, communication systems, distribution infrastructure, and network technologies.
Familiarity with rigging and stage machinery systems.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a creative studio environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and productively as a self-starter.
Knowledge of basic clerical practices and procedures.
Initiative, independent judgment, and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain effective under pressure.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of project and intellectual property information.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred qualifications include:
7+ years of experience working in theatrical consulting or an adjacent industry.
10+ years of experience in performing arts production, live performance design, or facilities systems design.
Advanced degree in theatre production, technical management, architectural design, engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
Strong reputation within the industry.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
This position includes the following working conditions and requirements:
Position may be based out of the San Francisco or New York office.
Work is performed in a general office and creative studio environment, with occasional travel to project meetings and job sites around the world.
Primary schedule is Monday through Friday, with nights and weekends as needed for project deadlines.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide identification sufficient to complete all necessary government forms.

Ability to safely, frequently, and independently move and handle twenty-five pounds.
Ability to work in low-light environments typical of backstage areas.

Must be able to regularly speak and write in English.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Apeiro Design offers the following compensation and benefits:
Anticipated salary range: $95,000-$105,000, dependent upon qualifications.
