POSITION: EDUCATION MANAGER

Reports to: Director of Education

Location: Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples, FL


Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Education, the Education Manager plays a vital role in shaping and executing the vision for the Education Department and its three program branches: The Conservatory, ThinkTheatre, and ArtReach. This position is responsible for overseeing the program+rsquo;s operations, logistics, and growth while ensuring high-quality educational experiences for students. Working closely with both the Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education, the Education Manager helps set short- and long-term goals, supports artistic and administrative needs, and fosters collaboration with teaching artists, classroom teachers, school administrators, students, and parents to maintain and expand the department+rsquo;s programs.


Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage class schedules, rehearsal calendars, performances, and special events.

Serve as the primary liaison between students, parents, faculty, and guest artists, ensuring clear and effective communication.

Work with the Director of Education to recruit, contract, and support teaching artists and guest instructors.

Assist in the development and execution of marketing and outreach efforts to grow program enrollment.

Support production management for Conservatory performances, including securing rehearsal spaces, coordinating production needs, and overseeing technical requirements.

Coordinate with partner schools to establish schedules for in-school residencies, masterclasses, and performances.

Manage enrollment, tuition, and scholarship processes in coordination with administrative staff.

Collaborate with the Director of Education to develop and implement curriculum enhancements and new programming.

Ensure all Education programs align with Gulfshore Playhouse+rsquo;s mission and educational goals.

Represent Gulfshore Playhouse and its education programs at community events and partnerships.



Requirements for Education Manager:

Bachelor+rsquo;s degree in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Arts Administration, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching or managing theatre education programs.

Experience in developing and implementing curriculum for theatre and musical theatre training, tailored to various age groups and skill levels.

Knowledge of best practices in performing arts instruction, including vocal, acting, and movement training, with the ability to support pre-professional student development.

Proven experience as a teaching artist or instructor, particularly in youth and teen musical theatre programs.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage ongoing education programs, including class scheduling, registration, faculty assignments, and student communications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.

Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple classes, rehearsals, and events simultaneously.

Committed to creating accessible and equitable training opportunities that reflect the transformative power of theatre.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, especially during production periods or seasonal Conservatory intensives.

Proficient in Google Workspace, with familiarity in arts education platforms and communication tools, such as Google Classroom.

Preferred Qualifications for Education Manager

Master+rsquo;s degree in Education or any subset of Theatre (Acting, Directing, Design/Tech, Theatre for Young Audiences) with significant supplementary teaching experience.

Directing and/or choreographing experience with varying levels of production support.

Prior stage management experience preferred, to assist with production needs, student rehearsals, and showcase performances.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with in-house and external designers, directors, music directors, and choreographers.

High preference to those with an extensive dance education background.

Experience working with learners with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Bilingual (English/Spanish)


Compensation + Benefits:


This is a Full-Time position with a salary of $60,000 annually, paid bi-weekly, as well as health, dental, and vision benefits.
