STAGE MANAGER (Theater)
The smash-hit burlesque parody, A Nightmare on Strip Street, is coming to Phoenix. NX5 Theatrical is now accepting submissions for an experienced Stage Manager.
THE SHOW
Combining comedy and dance, A Nightmare on Strip Street, has a cast of 11 and is a stunning visual treat. See nightmareonstripstreet.com for more about the show.
SALARY
$1400 weekly.
This includes up to 40 work hours with overtime being awarded for any hours worked beyond the initial 40.
Please note that this is a non-equity position.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
Tech: Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31
Show Run: Friday, July 31 - Sunday, August 23
There is a potential for an extension of this run, to be determined in the first week of August.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Monday and Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: 3:00 pm work call, 7:30 pm curtain
Thursday: 5:30 pm show call, 7:30 pm curtain
Friday: 5:00 pm show call, 7:00 pm curtain
Saturday: 5:00 pm show call, 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm curtain
Sunday: 2:00 pm show call, 4:00 pm curtain
In addition to the show schedule, the stage manager will be asked to attend weekly half hour video production meetings at 1:30 Eastern time on either Wednesdays or Fridays.
Shows may be added up to eight shows a week Wednesday - Sunday during the run.
POSITION SUMMARY
Previous stage management experience is essential, including show calling and managing a large cast.
Responsibilities include:
- Attending all technical rehearsals, performances, production meetings and work calls.
- Facilitating the selection of Deputy with the performers.
- Show calling for all technical rehearsals and performances.
- Completing and submitting payroll for performers and production crew weekly on Sundays.
- Generating daily calls for dancers and run crew, in collaboration with the on-site Dance Captain and the Technical Supervisor. Daily calls must be distributed the day prior to performance.
- Running daily pre-show meetings with the full company.
- Supervising all run crew members during rehearsals and performances.
- Generating and submitting performance reports within two hours of show completion on Slack.
- Adhering to all guidelines outlined in the employee handbook.
- Maintaining any paperwork for the show including, but not limited to, written instructions, check lists, tracking sheets and cue lists.
- Monitoring inventory with the crew and submitting purchase requests to production for expendable items, hospitality, gear, and tools.
- Adhering to all safety practices and procedures set forth by Production Management
- Checking email and Whats-App daily.
The Stage Manager must be respectful of others at all times, be safety conscious, and demonstrate a focus on team work and collaboration. Due to the sensitive nature of this production, we demand a high level of professional conduct.
Please note: Water-based haze and strobing lighting effects are used during rehearsals and performances.
