Lighting Repair Technician

**You must have experience repairing Entertainment/Theatrical Lighting Fixtures for this job. Applications without this experience, including experience with AV repairs or anything not specialized, will not be answered.

Job Summary:

Studio RRD is seeking a Repair Tech to join our warehouse operations team. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Repair Tech is responsible for the hands-on maintenance, repair, and quality control of our event lighting and production equipment. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a methodical approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to prioritize an active repair pipeline in a fast-paced environment.

Expected Qualifications:

+bull; 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in electronics repair, theatrical lighting maintenance, or a closely related technical field.
+bull; Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and networking issues in professional AV or lighting equipment.
+bull; Experience managing firmware updates and equipment software across a large inventory.
+bull; Familiarity with inventory or rental management systems (Current RMS, Intellievent or similar).
+bull; Computer literacy with an emphasis in G-Suite and Microsoft Suite.
+bull; Ability to work independently and manage a prioritized repair queue.
+bull; Strong attention to detail and dedication to accuracy.
+bull; Physical condition suitable to warehouse operations; ability to lift 50+ndash;100 lbs.
+bull; Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Desired Qualifications:

+bull; Experience with theatrical or architectural lighting equipment (e.g., fixture repair, DMX networking, fixture programming).
+bull; Background in developing QC documentation, training guides, or service procedures.
+bull; Experience building or fabricating custom electrical or scenic elements.
+bull; Experience working with rental management software and tracking equipment lifecycles.

Job Responsibilities:
+bull; Oversee all in-house equipment repairs and ongoing preventive maintenance, including iron and cable equipment.
+bull; Develop equipment repair and QC processes, including step-by-step documentation, service intervals, and training guides.
+bull; Coordinate with equipment vendors on RMAs and outside repairs.
+bull; Keep all equipment on the most current firmware and software versions; update version records in RMS and on equipment.
+bull; Manage and track small parts inventory for both repair and general warehouse stock.
+bull; Assist in managing new equipment intake, including testing, barcoding, and documenting QC processes.
+bull; Collaborate with the QC Associate to develop and maintain RRD equipment quality control processes; assist with QC during high-turnover periods.
+bull; Provide detailed equipment repair costs and work with leadership to determine equipment lifecycles.
+bull; Handle special projects, including the design and build of custom RRD products.
+bull; Provide detailed pricing estimates for all repairs.
+bull; Work with leadership and the Warehouse Manager to prioritize the equipment repair pipeline based on show needs.
+bull; Assist shop floor staff during periods of increased show activity.
+bull; Other duties as assigned.

This position is paid hourly, with overtime after 40 hours per week, with a rate between $35/hr - $47/hr commensurate with experience.
