Position: Assistant Stage Manager
Productions: Hairspray + Footloose
Compensation: $350/week, plus shared dorm-style housing
Dates of Employment: June 22 +ndash; August 23, 2026 (9 weeks)

NCCA at Jean's Playhouse is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager for its 2026 Summer Season featuring Hairspray and Footloose running in rotating repertory.

The Assistant Stage Manager reports directly to the Production Stage Manager and assists in all aspects of the rehearsal, technical, and performance process. Responsibilities include assisting with rehearsal and fitting schedules, preparing rehearsal reports and production paperwork, recording blocking, cues, tracking, and quick changes, maintaining a detailed prompt book, preparing and maintaining rehearsal spaces, and ensuring the rehearsal room is properly set up and organized each day.

During technical rehearsals and performances, the Assistant Stage Manager helps oversee backstage operations, coordinates with performers and crew, assists with scenic changeovers, and helps ensure the smooth execution of all performances throughout the repertory season.

Successful candidates will be highly organized, detail-oriented, strong communicators, and able to thrive in a fast-paced professional theatre environment. Prior stage management experience is preferred. A valid driver's license is also preferred.
