Production Technician (Core Team)
Company: Events by Design
Department: Production
Employment Type: Full-Time or Regular Part-Time (W2)
Schedule: Consistent, Management-Led Scheduling
The Role: The Heart of the Production
At Events by Design, our Core Production Technicians are the architects of the event environment. Unlike our elective-schedule pool, you are a foundational member of our team. You aren+rsquo;t just "filling a shift"+mdash;you are taking ownership of the gear, the shop, and the flawless execution of our high-end designs from concept to strike.
This role is for the professional who values a consistent team dynamic, deep familiarity with our inventory, and the opportunity to lead on-site. You will work directly with our Management and Design teams to ensure every event is a masterpiece.

Technical Mastery
As a Core member, you are expected to be a multi-disciplinary "Swiss Army Knife," capable of operating within several departments while supporting the overall production. This means while you may specialize in a certain area but you are able to contribute to any need that helps the show succeed.
The ideal candidate for this position excels in one or more of the following areas and is comfortable working alongside other leaders to support ALL of the following disciplines of production
1. Audiovisual + Lighting Production
Audio: Advanced operation of analog + digital consoles. You should be comfortable managing complex signal paths, wireless frequency coordination (Shure), and delivering crystal-clear audio for both live audiences and digital broadcasts.
Video: Mastery of video, switches, projection screens, monitors, LED walls, signal + cable(SDI/HDMI/Fiber), and the technical nuances of video signal and professional livestreaming.
Lighting: Proficient in lighting control software + consoles. You can take a designer+rsquo;s vision and translate it into DMX reality, ensuring fixtures are patched, addressed, and programmed to hit every cue.

2. Power + Infrastructure
Distribution: Expert-level understanding of power distribution, including three-phase power, load balancing across distros, and strict adherence to electrical safety and cable management standards.
3. Scenic, Decor + Finishing
Because we are "Events by Design," the aesthetic is as important as the audio.
The "Finish" Work: High-level touch-ups, furniture repair, and scenic painting to keep our inventory in showroom condition.
Vinyl + Graphics: Expert application of vinyl wraps on dance floors, bars, and acrylics.
Woodworking: Proficient with power tools for on-site fabrication or structural repairs to custom backdrops and stage elements.

Core Responsibilities + Leadership
Gear Stewardship: Assist in the maintenance, organization, and QC (Quality Control) of equipment within the warehouse and on-site.
On-Site Leadership: Act as a point of contact for ESR (Elective-Schedule) staff, guiding them through the load-in/out process and maintaining company standards.
Venue Relations: Represent Events by Design professionally while interacting with venue coordinators, high-net-worth clients, and vendors.
Safety Advocacy: Ensure all builds are structurally sound, all cables are safely dressed, and all team members are following OSHA-compliant practices.

The "Core" Skillset
The "White Glove" Mindset: You understand that in high-end events, a scratch on a bar is just as detrimental as a mic failure.
Problem-Solving: The ability to troubleshoot complex technical chains under the "doors open" pressure.
Team Chemistry: A desire to work within a consistent group, contributing to a positive, high-energy shop and site culture.

Why Join the Core Team at Events by Design?
Stability + Predictability: Enjoy a consistent schedule provided by management, allowing you to plan your life with confidence.
Career Pathing: Core members receive priority for specialized training, certifications, and internal promotion to Lead or Management roles.
Project Ownership: Follow a project from the initial shop prep to the final strike, seeing the full impact of your hard work.
W2 Benefits: Competitive pay, standard legal protections, and [Optional: Insert your specific benefits like PTO, Health, etc.].

Ready to Lead?
If you are a seasoned production pro who takes pride in the "design" as much as the "tech," we want to meet you.

To apply, send your resume and a brief introductory message in email to the posted contact above.
