Next Act Theatre engages the hearts and minds of audiences with intimate, compelling productions intended to stimulate thought, foster the exchange of ideas and promote the development of new perspectives and understanding. Our AME/Light Board Op is a key member of our crew, supporting the work of artists for all four productions in our season.


Duties
- Assist the Master Electrician and overhire crew with lighting hang, patch, focus.
- Assist the Master Electrician with installing set electrics and sound setup.
- Attend all tech rehearsals and act as board programmer for an ETC Ion XE, if requested by the Lighting Designer.
- Boot up lighting and sound systems for all 18 performances. Run speaker check, channel check, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Contact the Master Electrician if more assistance is needed.
- Run the light board for all 18 performances.
- Shut down both lighting and sound systems each night.
- Assist the Master Electrician and overhire crew with strike at the end of the run.


Requirements:
- Comfortable hanging and focusing lights on ladders up to 16+rsquo;.
- Good foundational knowledge of stagecraft, theatrical lighting, and sound, especially ETC systems and QLab.
- Ability to lead a diverse crew of stagehands and collaborate with others while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Good troubleshooting skills.

Trayf: Load-in August 31-Sept 11, Tech Sept 12-17, Performances Sept 18-Oct 4.
The Boys from Baraboo: Load-in Nov 16-27 (Thanksgiving off), Tech Nov 28-Dec 3, Performances Dec 4-20
In the Next Room: Load-in Feb 1-12, Tech Feb 13-18, Performances Feb 19-Mar 7
At the Wake of a Dead Drag Queen: Load-in April 12-16, Tech April 17-22, Performances April 23-May 9


Pay is $20/hr during load-in for Trayf, The Boys from Baraboo, and In the Next Room and transitions to $600/week at the start of tech. Due to the compressed load-in schedule, pay is $600/week starting on load-in for At the Wake of a Dead Drag Queen. Next Act is willing to contract on a show-by-show basis, but special consideration will be given to candidates who can work all 4 productions.
