The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities is an arts based residential high school in Greenville South Carolina.
SCGSAH is seeking a highly skilled Scenic Designer for several productions This 26/27 school year. There will be a non-musical production performing November 19-22, a Film Project Feb 19th-march 5th, and a devised project April 14th-18th
Our Theatre is a semi-traditional black box with flexible seating. All three projects will be built in the same black box space. If interested in the film project, experience creating and designing for film is required. The designer will create designs aligning with the creative vision of the Director and in collaboration with the whole production team. It is essential to be strategic with current stock and budgets. The designer needs to be able to clearly instruct shop staff on building items and provide accurate and timely paperwork, as well as assist with any and all elements of the build. Designs must meet our high level of design aesthetic and quality of construction. Shop hours will be set by the Technical Director. Designers will need to attend meetings, appropriate rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and other communications as needed. SC Residents preferred but not required.
