Pay
$15.50 an hour (Part-Time Position) per hour
Reports to: Technical Director; Theatre Arts
Description:
This position supports the Theatre Production process. The candidate must possess good communication skills/interpersonal skills. This position will work in supervising students. This part-time position works an average of 24 hours a week and cannot exceed 32 hours per week and has a salary of $15.50 per hour. This position begins August 2026.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance and cleanliness of the Scene Shop.
Monitor/purchase materials and supplies.
Supervise Student Workers
Provide carpentry support for Theatre Productions.
Provide Stagecraft Class safety and training support.
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and support the Christian character and mission of Sterling College. The candidate must also possess a clear understanding of and ability to articulate the essentials of a Christian liberal arts college.
Experience with construction, tools, and basic carpentry skills are required.
Essential Job Functions
Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to a minimum of 25 pounds.
Must be able walk up and down stairs.
Be able to coordinate movement of the fingers and hands as well as have adequate dexterity and strength to complete tasks.
Be able to use upper extremities to frequently press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward or upward.
Frequently, bend your body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Be able to stand and move about regularly.
Be able to sit for long periods of time.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in theatre is preferred but not required. This position does not require a masters degree in theatre.
