Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Audio/Visual (A/V) Teacher to lead middle and high school students in learning the fundamentals of video production, photography, sound design, and digital media. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge with creativity and a desire to mentor students in using media for purposeful storytelling.
This is a part-time position ideal for a creative professional or educator who desires to inspire the next generation of Christian content creators.
Key Responsibilities
Teach students A/V fundamentals, including videography, photography, editing, lighting, and sound.
Introduce students to media ethics, storytelling principles, and production planning.
Oversee student-led projects such as school announcements, highlight reels, and event recordings.
Maintain and manage A/V equipment, ensuring proper use and care.
Collaborate with administration to support school events through sound, lighting, and video setup.
Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Incorporate biblical worldview and values into lessons and discussions.
Being able to set up a worship set with sound, lighting, lyrics. The Technical Director oversees technical elements for both worship services and professional theatre productions+mdash;designing and executing FOH and monitor/IEM mixes, programming and running lighting cues, configuring lyric/projection systems, creating cue lists and run sheets, and coordinating load‑in/strike and tech rehearsals. They maintain equipment, enforce safety and rigging standards, and manage budgets and vendor rentals.
Ideal candidates have 3+ years live sound/lighting experience, proficiency with digital consoles (FOH and IEM systems), basic lighting programming (DMX/console), familiarity with projection/lyrics software, practical rigging and power knowledge, and experience training or supervising volunteers. Flexible hours, ability to lift gear, and strong communication skills required.
Also, for the Spring Productions at the King Center being willing to call the show, or assist in calling the show. Overseeing all technical element designs, deadlines, and being involved in the creative budget
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Media, Communications, Education, or related field preferred
Prior experience in video production, photography, or related A/V fields
Familiarity with editing software
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Ability to integrate faith and media instruction
