$16 - $18/hr.

The House Electrician/Board Op will be responsible for the hang/focus of production light plots, wiring practicals, cabling, programming and running the board during performances (ETC Ion XE). This position reports to the Lighting Director and works closely with other stage crews including sound, and deck crews. This position will also periodically cover events or rentals as needed.

Responsibilities:
Hang, circuit, and focus theatrical lighting fixtures for five shows annually
Program Lighting Consoles and operate the light board during live performances
Ensure all power supplies, cables, and rigging are safely connected and meet standard electrical codes/practices
Trouble shoot system errors in collaboration with Lighting Director
Facilitate hang and focus with the Lighting Director and update paperwork
Complete required repairs including dimming system, circuitry, cables and fixtures
Establish safe working environment and follow OSHA guidelines
Must be able to work long irregular shifts including nights and weekends
Participate in all Arts Center functions including Spring Benefit, Theater Series/Events, Rentals, Holiday Kick Off and Voices of Gullah

Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to climb ladders/catwalks and work at height
Ability to work in dark conditions
Valid drivers license
Carry 50 lbs.

Ideal Qualifications:
Knowledge of Vectorworks and Lightwright
Experience with ETC Ion XE
Experience with LED fixtures and wiring
Read scale drawings
Ability to use Personal Lift and Scissor Lift
Theatre Degree or Similar Professional Experience
Competent with general power tools

Qualities:
Remains calm in stressful situations and adaptability
Ability to be a self-starter and team player
