Frost Productions is seeking Freelance Fabricators and Craftspeople based in New Jersey or New York to work in our shop and in the field. Shop work is based in our Fabrication Shop, located in Moonachie, New Jersey and we do installation work in the field at various venues throughout the tri-state area.

Fabricators contribute to construction and finishing work across various phases of a project +ndash; from interpreting design intent, to delivering polished and installation-ready scenic elements for high-end special events. Engagements range from single-day calls to multi-week fabrication runs, depending on project needs.

Compensation: $25 - $40 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Position Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble custom scenic elements, props, cabinetry and structures in the shop.
- Work with a variety of materials including wood, metal, acrylic and plastic laminates.
- Apply paint, specialty finishes and graphics, as needed.
- Interpret drawings, renderings and thumbnails to execute fabrication work accurately.
- Handle, package and crate finished materials for transport.
- Install and strike materials at event sites, as needed.

Position Requirements:
- Experience in carpentry, stagecraft and/or scenic fabrication.
- Proficiency with power tools and shop machinery.
- Commitment to shop safety and PPE protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Great attention to detail in all assigned tasks and communications.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, based on project needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Punctuality, professionalism and a positive, collaborative attitude when working with clients and co-workers.


Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in construction and fabrication.
- Experience applying wood and scenic finishes.
- Experience with welding.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Vectorworks or similar technical-design software.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts and box trucks (CDL not required).
- Comfort working at heights.
- General stagecraft experience or familiarity with entertainment lighting, audio and video equipment.
