The Wardrobe/Wig supervisor supports the Costume Department and manages all aspects of wardrobe for Maltz Jupiter Theatre's MainStage productions and special events. This position is responsible for training, scheduling, supervising and coordinating the wardrobe crew for MJT productions, as well as running shows, maintaining wigs, and stitching in the shop when not in production. This role works as part of a team primarily at Maltz Jupiter Theatre but will also occasionally work with our stock at the Production Center. This position reports to the Costume Shop Manager.
Responsibility highlights of this position include:
- Train, supervise, and coordinate the Wardrobe Crew on productions
- Execute paperwork for productions such as dressing sheets and run sheets in coordination with stage management
- Conduct a smooth and effective load in with dressers, setting up dressing rooms, backstage quick-change areas, and wardrobe area.
- Attend fittings to get acclimated with the costumes before each tech
- Attend designer run of each production with dressers
- Preparing and maintaining all costumes and costume pieces for dress rehearsals and performances; seeing that the standards set in dress rehearsals are maintained throughout the run of the show
- Oversee laundry and arrange dry cleaning pick up/ drop off in relation to show schedules
- Maintaining the wardrobe/laundry/wig areas and keep a running list of equipment and supplies needed
- Working in the shop as a stitcher when not in production, assisting with alterations
- Organizing an efficient strike for each production
Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in a wardrobe capacity, including wig application and maintenance. The successful candidate should possess basic sewing skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role is required to work weekends and evenings. This is a full time, year-round position starting at $1,000/wk with a generous benefits package. Start date: August/September 2026.
