**Position:**
Pattern/Draper
**Overview:**
The Cutter/Draper assists in all aspects of costumes; organizes and executes the construction of costumes as required by the Costume Studio Manager and Costume Designer. This position will interpret original design work, create custom patterns, and builds based on the design. The Cutter/Draper instructs the First Hands and Stitchers, as appropriate to the assigned project. The Cutter/Draper works with the Costume Studio Manager to meet construction and fitting deadlines. This position may assist in other costume production areas as directed by the needs of the production, including attending fittings, install and training for our clients.
**Reporting Structure:**
The employees and contractors of the Costume Studio will report directly to the Costume Studio Supervisor and Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
* Drape, pattern, fabricate, and cut costume product to a high-quality standard.
* Detailed knowledge of fabrics and materials commonly used in the industry.
* Bundle and prepare tasks for the costume studio staff.
* Proper documentation of all aspects of the build process. Ensuring all steps of the process are photographed and catalogued.
* Achieve deadlines by working in both team and individual settings.
* Work with and around chemicals such as contact cement, epoxies, super glue, fabric dyes etc.
* Supervises, mentors, and provides direct training.
* Adhere to company safety regulations, maintains a safe, healthy, and clean work/studio environment.
* Complete tasks at a consistent high quality within timelines.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

## Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Theater, Costume Technology, or a related field (or 10+ years of equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in costume cutting, draping, and patterning or a similar role in theatrical, theme park, cruise line or similar productions.
* Strong knowledge of costume patterning and construction techniques.
* Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability based on production requirements.
* High attention to detail and quality control.
* Effective in time management.
* Technical proficiency with industrial and domestic sewing machines.
* Proficient in hand sewing techniques.
* High manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* Strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
* Knowledge of costume foam patterning and fabrication.
* Knowledge/experience with 3D patterning software+rsquo;s.
* Experience in Adobe Illustrator.
* Experience with Office Suite.

## Physical Requirements/Environment:
* Moderate lifting or carrying 26 to 50 lbs.
* Intermittently sitting, standing, and stooping.
* Working at heights and climbing ladders and stairs.
* Requires repeated reaching by extending hand(s) and/or arm(s) in any direction.
* Using equipment requiring high dexterity.

## Pay and Benefit Structure:
* USD Hourly: $25 per hour.
* Payroll will be bi-weekly in arrears.
* All full-time hourly team members are allotted 5 days of PTO per year, plus designated company holidays, paid. If a holiday falls on a production-related workday or weekend, then an alternate date will be selected.
* Benefits offered to full-time hourly team members include medical, dental, and vision.
