DANCE CONVENTION SEEKING:
Lighting/HOG OPERATOR + Sound Technician
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Lighting Technician with working knowledge of HOG lighting systems to join our event production team.
This role is hands-on from start to finish and requires someone who is comfortable working on both the technical and physical sides of live event production.
Key Responsibilities:
Load-in and load-out of lighting equipment, sound equipment, and production gear
Assist with unloading and moving road cases (trunks), staging, and setup
Hang, focus, and prep stage lighting fixtures and cabling
Operate a HOG lighting console during live events
Execute lighting cues during performances with precision and timing
Creatively improvise lighting cues during unfamiliar or changing performances
Assist with basic operation of stage sound systems and music playback for live performances
Operate music playback during performances and live event production (training provided, no prior music experience required)
Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently during show operation
Work collaboratively with production crew to maintain smooth event flow Requirements:
Proven experience with HOG lighting boards, including live operation
Strong understanding of stage lighting systems, DMX, and signal flow
Ability to work in a fast-paced live event environment
Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment, working long hours, and being on your feet
Professional, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
Ability to take direction while also working independently when needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience programming HOG lighting boards
Experience in live performance environments including dance, theater, concerts, or touring productions
Familiarity with truss systems, rigging basics, sound systems, and stage layouts
Experience with additional lighting consoles is a plus
Additional Details:
Position is project-based / per event, with potential for ongoing work
Travel may be required depending on event location
Must be available for full event days including early load-ins and late load-outs
