The Mainstage Supervisor/Carpenter position at Maltz Jupiter Theatre is responsible for training, supervising and coordinating the deck crew for MJT productions, as well as operating scenic systems and maintaining scenery during the run of each production. The Mainstage Supervisor is also responsible for daily safety checks and assuring safety protocols are implemented. When not in production, this position serves as a carpenter at our Production Center, constructing, installing, repairing, and striking sets and show elements for season productions and other special projects as assigned. This role works as part of a team at both the Production Center and Maltz Jupiter Theatre and reports to the Technical Director.

Responsibilities of this position include:
+bull; Train, supervise, and coordinate the Deck Crew on productions with regards to The Maltz Jupiter Theatre+rsquo;s safety policies and operation of stage equipment.
+bull; Execute a daily check of all stage equipment for safety and proper function.
+bull; Organize and maintain stage and backstage spaces in a clean, orderly, safe, and effective manner as per individual needs of each production.
+bull; Work with Stage Management to coordinate all scene shifts on assigned productions.
+bull; Consistently reproduce technical accuracy in all performance related duties.
+bull; Maintenance and repairs of the props and scenery and coordinating any larger repairs.
+bull; Reading construction drawings and executing builds according to the designers+rsquo; specifications
+bull; Completing projects as assigned by the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director on schedule
+bull; Knowledge of operation for all common woodworking tools. Welding may also be required.
+bull; Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

This role is required to work weekends and evenings. Must be able to lift 30 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for prolonged periods of time.

Candidates should have 2-4 years+rsquo; experience in the industry, BFA preferred. Experience with Creative Connors automation equipment and ability to drive a 26+rsquo; truck is a plus. This is a nine-month full time seasonal position with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary range: $1,000-1,100/wk. Start date: early
July.
