The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is seeking a collaborative and solutions-oriented Associate General Manager to support operational strategy, contracting, real estate management, and organizational coordination across the Festival. This role is ideal for an experienced operations leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys balancing logistics, relationship management, and strategic problem-solving.

The Role You'll Play

As Associate General Manager, you'll serve as a key operational partner within the General + Company Management department. You'll oversee contracts, rentals, and real estate operations while supporting cross-departmental planning, fiscal oversight, and organizational logistics. This role combines high-level operational management with hands-on coordination and relationship building.

What You'll Do

Operational Leadership: Support day-to-day general management operations, administrative systems, and organizational planning.

Contract + Vendor Management: Draft, negotiate, and oversee operational, rental, vendor, and service agreements.

Real Estate + Rentals Oversight: Manage OSF housing, rentals, lease coordination, and property-related logistics.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Production, Artistic, Facilities, Finance, Safety, and other departments to support organizational needs.

Fiscal Management: Support budgeting, expense tracking, revenue reporting, and financial processes across the department.

Staff Supervision + Support: Oversee coordinators and department assistants while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture.

You'll Thrive Here If You

Minimum of three years progressively responsible management experience, including staff supervision. Experience in general management, arts admin, or operations environments.
Bring strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
Are experienced in contracts, budgeting, and operational coordination.
Can navigate fast-paced environments with professionalism and sound judgment.
Enjoy collaborative problem-solving and supporting mission-driven work.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in theatre, live entertainment, or repertory theatre environments.
Experience working in unionized environments and supervising staff.
Background in company management, rentals, hospitality, or real estate operations.

Physical + Schedule Requirements

Ability to travel across campus, drive company vehicles, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule includes weekday business hours with occasional evenings and weekends based on production and organizational needs.

Organizational Background

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works. OSF productions have been presented on Broadway, internationally, and at regional, community, and high school theatres across the country. OSF received the 1983 Special Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and is one of the largest nonprofit theatres in the nation with three stages, including an outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre.
