Farmers Alley Theatre AEA SPT - Tier 4 Black Box Theatre in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a collaborative, solutions-oriented Technical Director to join our professional Equity team in Southwest Michigan. Entering our 19th season, Farmers Alley Theatre is dedicated to high-quality, intimate storytelling where artistry meets technical excellence.

The TD plays a vital leadership role in realizing artistic visions while
maintaining a safe, efficient technical environment. Our TD will oversee all production aspects+mdash;including scenic
construction, lighting/sound
implementation, and staff coordination+mdash;ensuring every show meets our professional standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

Production: Interpret designs into practical builds; oversee construction, installation, and strike.

Management: Lead scene shop operations, maintain inventory, and supervise over-hire staff.

Collaboration: Work with designers and the Producing Artistic Director to achieve creative goals within budget.

Safety: Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and AEA guidelines within our flexible black box space.
