Richmond Ballet, the State Ballet of Virginia, seeks a Production Stage Manager to join its growing and dynamic organization. Located in downtown Richmond, just steps away from the James River, it is currently among one of the country+rsquo;s most admired and accomplished professional ballet companies. With the mission to awaken, uplift and unite the human spirit through the power of dance, the company employs more than 100 full and part-time staff, educates and trains avocational and pre-professional students through the School of Richmond Ballet and Minds In Motion, and tours nationally and internationally.

The Production Stage Manager, under the supervision of the Production Director, leads the stage management function for the entire organization including the professional company and education programs. This position oversees staff, run crew, and production support processes to ensure rehearsals and performances are safe, organized, and well executed. In partnership with the Production Director and other department leaders, this position supports staffing, scheduling, communication, and operational problem solving across productions and related events, while fostering a collaborative environment that reflects Richmond Ballet+rsquo;s values and supports the success of each performance. This position requires a high level of independent problem-solving skills and must be organized and proactive, working in a fast paced environment.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Stage Manage all ballet productions across the organization including the professional company performances and School of Richmond Ballet educational performances.
- Work with Production Director to create clear paperwork, performance reports, production notes, plots, run sheets and procedures and planning.
- Maintain detailed records and archives.
- Generate production schedules for all ballet productions across the organization including the professional company and school of Richmond ballet.
- Manage and run technical rehearsals.
- Create call script for all performances and call the four professional company dance series, two story ballets, as well as School of Richmond Ballet educational performances. This includes all show cues, including deck rail, automation, lighting, - Together with Technical Director and other production staff, take and implement artistic and technical notes during rehearsals and performances.
- Participate in production meetings.
- Support marketing, development, and outreach initiatives by coordinating needs for photo/video shoots, touch tours, displays, and other events.
- Together with the Technical Director, oversee all backstage run crews and IATSE crews, at home venues and touring venues.

Education/ Experience:
- Degree Arts/ Theater with focus on stage management or relevant industry experience, particularly in dance or ballet
- 3-5+ years of previous stage management and show calling experience

Salary Range: $45,000 - $52,500
