Organization Background:
P:L Theatrical is a design and production firm based out of Central Florida, offering lighting, sound, and projection design, as well as management services to a wide range of entertainment and architectural clients.
P:L Theatrical is building its roster of freelance electricians for ongoing overhire opportunities across Central Florida. Applicants must be local to the Central Florida area as travel fees/stipends are unavailable for a majority of these contracts. This is not a single-position hire; it is an open and ongoing expression of interest for experienced electricians who want to be considered for upcoming projects on a per-gig basis.
Our work spans regional theater, corporate events, theme parks, and educational theatre. Projects vary in scope, scale, and schedule; and we're looking for reliable, skilled people who are easy to work with and comfortable adapting to different environments and production teams. Work is scheduled on an as-needed basis and is not guaranteed.

Contract Rate: $16 - $24/hr (depending on position and scope of work)
Primary Responsibilities
* Use provided documentation and verbal instruction to hang, circuit, strike, troubleshoot, and focus theatrical lighting rig
* Build practical and LED special effect lighting
* Install and manage special effect generator/machines
* Service/repair theatrical fixtures and equipment
* Complete basic patching on ETC EOS console
* Provide maintenance/upkeep tasks on client's venue and stock
Physical Demands:
- Comfortable working on ladders up to 20ft (A-frame and extension), scaffolding, and single man/scissor lifts
- Able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly
- Specific physical requirements: color vision, depth perception, full range of hearing
Qualifications:
- Motivated and responsible with team-oriented attitude
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Docs + Sheets, ETC EOS.
- Knowledge of basic rigging techniques and safety procedures.
- Available to work flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
- Comfortable driving a 16' box truck
- Valid drivers license and working vehicle.
- Basic understanding of audio systems and audio routing a plus.
* Preferable Qualifications: Basic knowledge of Vectorworks, Lightwright, and QLab
Note, depending on employee/project needs, P:L Theatrical offers training in various responsibilities and qualifications listed above.
