General: The Acting Company (TAC) seeks a touring Technical Director (TD) for their 2026 NYC School Tour. The 2026 NYC School Tour is a 75-minute, 6-actor production of Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, in a modern verse translation by Lisa Peterson.
For three weeks in April and May, tour will travel to NYC schools (Monday through Friday), load in, perform, and load out. This is a local commitment - there are no overnight conditions: the full team will travel to the school each morning, and return home after the work day. The physical production (set, costumes, props, etc) will travel in a rented van, driven by the team. Following these three weeks, there will be one week of public performances at The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (18 Bleecker Street).
This is a great opportunity for a theatre technician who has knowledge about multiple departments, with more concentrated knowledge in scenic/props, and has an eagerness to pitch in wherever needed.
Company Information: The Acting Company (www.theactingcompany.org) is a fifty-year-old theatre company dedicated to developing artists and audiences through touring productions of classic texts.
Responsibilities:

- Oversee and participate in load-in at school, including scenic and props, and assisting with wardrobe and sound as needed

- Oversee and participate in load-out and van packing
- Communicate regularly with The Acting Company management team about progress of tour, challenges, etc
Schedule:
- Currently in pre-production, meetings TBD
- Rehearsals April 7 through April 26 (minimal commitment during this time)
