JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Charge Artist will be responsible for painting each of the 6 shows in the season. They will supervise 2 other painters along with various run crew members. They must work with scenic designers and technical directors to check in on the show's needs. The Ohio Light Opera does a lot of traditionally historic shows that require drops. They must be comfortable with painting drops and scrims.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Scenic Painting experience, confident in: color mixing, Trompe-l'+oelig;il work, some foam carving and other classic scenic painting textures
Drop painting experience
Communicate production plans and needs with other production areas, other departments within the company
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
Able to lift 25 pounds and is comfortable working on a ladder
Organized and detail oriented, able to prioritize efficiently and multi-task.
Ability to be self-directed and take initiative.
