Founded in 1961, Theatre L+rsquo;Homme Dieu (TLHD) has a rich history of presenting theatre to the Alexandria Lakes Area. TLHD audiences are permanent residents, seasonal residents, tourists, and guests of the Alexandria area. TLHD+rsquo;s campus is a former resort that was converted into a theatre campus with housing for 20+ and a 272-seat proscenium theatre. The campus sits on 22 acres of wooded land, with access to Lake L+rsquo;Homme Dieu.

Job Description: Technical Director - TLHD+rsquo;s 66th Season
The Technical Director works with the rest of the TLHD team to create and sustain the organizational structure necessary to advance Theatre L+rsquo;Homme Dieu+rsquo;s mission.

Position and Responsibilities

Reports to the Executive and Artistic Director.
Oversees build, load in, hang/focus, tech, opening, and strike of all theatrical productions, concerts and events in the 2026 Theatre L+rsquo;Homme Dieu season. TLHD produces two shows in house, and presents two outside shows, in addition to five concerts, three movies and several full campus events.
Establishing and monitoring the build schedule to ensure the delivery of the set as realized by the designer by the opening performance. Ensuring sufficient progress is made by the start of technical rehearsals so that the designers and directors can fully complete their work by opening.
Oversees on site scene shop, maintaining production schedule and shop organization
Assist the ED/AD and Operations Manager with management of TLHD campus.
Assist with the opening and closing of the TLHD campus at the beginning and end of the season if employed those weeks.
Assist Operations Manager with the care and management of the TLHD campus. Including, but not limited to assisting in arranging maintenance, repairs of the lodging cabins, and/or maintaining the compound+rsquo;s buildings.
Attend all staff, production meetings and TLHD events.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Thorough technical knowledge of theatrical lighting and sound systems.
Thorough knowledge and proficiency in Carpentry.
Enjoy working for an exciting small business with multiple, fast-paced demands.
Outstanding communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Accountability, Reliability, and Punctuality.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced high-stress environment.
Ability to positively interact with co-workers, touring companies, and the public / patrons.

Preferred Skills

Ability to lift 100 pounds.
Proficiency in QLAB, ETC EOS, and/or Allen and Heath iLive.
Experience working with wireless audio systems.
Proficiency in electrical and soldering skills.
