Children+rsquo;s Theatre Company (CTC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Production Stage Manager. This full-time benefits-eligible position requires someone who has demonstrated knowledge and skill in stage management, who is skilled in supervising staff and working with actors, and who has the ability to positively contribute to an anti-racist organization and assist in dismantling structural racism in theatre. Applicants for this role should have exceptional leadership, communication, project management and organizational skills, and demonstrated ability to be accurate and detail oriented in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Stage Manager leads the stage management function for the organization, overseeing staff, run crew, and production support processes to ensure rehearsals and performances are safe, well organized, and executed with artistic integrity. In partnership with the Director of Production and other department leaders, this position supports staffing, scheduling, communication, and operational problem solving across productions and related events, while fostering a collaborative environment that reflects Children+rsquo;s Theatre Company+rsquo;s values and supports the success of each production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Management and Leadership
+bull; Supervise all stage management staff and the Head Stage Carpenters and run crew for both stages
+bull; Ensure that our mission, vision and values are realized and upheld in rehearsal and performance
+bull; Work with Director of Production and production department heads to support creative teams and production staff through rehearsal and tech process. Aid in problem solving and creative solutions
+bull; Work with Director of Production to manage department budget and expenses; strategize future season expenses; track current season expenses and savings
+bull; With the Director of Production, hires and assigns all stage management personnel
+bull; Recruit and hire all run crew for productions and overhire crew for events
+bull; Recruit and supervise Student Actor Supervisors, including training and setting standards for this position
+bull; Recruit and hire Stage Management Fellows and Production Assistants
+bull; Work with Theatre Arts Training to recruit, hire and mentor the stage management staff and interns for the Summer Intensives
+bull; Maintain safety programs and ensure training for stage management staff and run crew
+bull; Understand and implement the rules of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Actors+rsquo; Equity Association and Children's Theatre Company and between International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Children+rsquo;s Theatre Company

Production Support
+bull; Stage manage (rehearse/call) selected productions each season
+bull; Stage manage internal events or activities as needed
+bull; Coordinate and facilitate performative elements for Curtain Call Ball
+bull; Mentor stage management staff and set a standard for how rehearsals and performances are run
+bull; Work with stage management staff to create clear paperwork and procedures
+bull; Cover rehearsals or performances in emergencies for Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager
+bull; Serve as performance substitute for stage managers and assistant stage managers by learning tracks early in the run
+bull; Communicate and monitor Adult/Youth Engagement Policy with stage management staff, run crew, artistic team and actors
+bull; Create strong relationships with student actors and families
+bull; With Technical Director, Lighting and Video Director, Sound Director, Director of Production and Stage Managers create strike/load-in/tech schedules
+bull; Coordinate scheduling of rehearsal spaces/stage space for rehearsals
+bull; Maintain equipment and purchase supplies for stage management staff and production crew needs
+bull; Maintain stage management archives

Collaborate with all staff in the furtherance of CTC+rsquo;s goal of being an anti-racist/anti-bias theatre that works towards Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
+bull; Encourage and empower everyone to speak out against racist and/or biased workplace practices and policies
+bull; Study topics that lead to a deeper understanding of how white supremacy, racial violence, and systemic racism have shaped American society and how that shapes CTC+rsquo;s workplace and the lives of CTC employees
+bull; Positively contribute to the ACT One platform, creating a future where our theatre is a home for all people, all families, reflective of our community

Experience
+bull; Demonstrated experience as an Equity Stage Manager in a regional theatre
+bull; Demonstrated skill and knowledge of scheduling, time management, and hiring and evaluating staff a must
+bull; Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate staff, including coaching and corrective feedback
+bull; Demonstrated skill in working with theatre artists and actors required
+bull; Demonstrated experience with student actors and I.A.T.S.E stagehands a plus

COMPENSATION
The starting salary range for this full-time position is between $62,000 and $68,000 annually. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance; short-term and long-term disability and life insurance; vacation and sick leave; nine paid holidays; and a 403(b)-retirement savings plan.
