POSITION OVERVIEW:
P:L Theatrical is building its roster of freelance sound engineers (A1/A2) for ongoing overhire opportunities across Central Florida. This is not a single-position hire +mdash; it is an open and ongoing expression of interest for experienced audio professionals who want to be considered for upcoming projects on a per-gig basis.
Our work spans regional theater, educational programs, corporate events, and live entertainment. Projects vary in scope, scale, and schedule +mdash; and we're looking for reliable, skilled people who are easy to work with and comfortable adapting to different environments and production teams.
Work is scheduled on an as-needed basis and is not guaranteed.

Employment Type:
-- 1099 Independent Contractor

Employment Length:
-- Open + Ongoing (per-gig basis)

Employment Location:
-- Central Florida and the Space Coast (must be willing to commute to venues throughout the region)

Contract Rate:
-- $20+ndash;$25/hr (depending on position and scope of work)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience mixing and/or operating sound for theatrical and live event productions.
- Proficiency with digital mixing consoles, including Yamaha (CL/QL series), Allen + Heath (dLive/SQ), and Behringer/Midas (M32/X32/Wing) platforms.
- Working knowledge of QLab for playback and show control.
- Experience with RF coordination and wireless microphone systems, specifically Shure and Sennheiser platforms.
- Knowledge of theatrical mic'ing techniques, including body mic placement and management for musical theater.
- Basic networking skills (Dante, audio-over-IP) and familiarity with show control workflows.
- Preferred: experience with TheatreMix.

- Must have reliable personal transportation and be willing to commute to venues throughout Central Florida and the Space Coast.
- Must be willing and able to pass a background check. Some of our clients are schools +mdash; you must be comfortable and capable working alongside students in high school and college production programs.
- Must be a collaborative, professional, and level-headed presence in the room. We value people who are easy to work with, communicate clearly, and bring a calm energy to high-pressure environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of professional or post-secondary experience in theatrical sound, live events, or a related field.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional early-morning load-ins.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Must be local to (or willing to regularly commute within) Central Florida and the Space Coast.

We encourage all candidates to express interest, even if they don't currently meet every qualification listed above. If you have strong foundational skills and are eager to grow, we want to hear from you. P:L Theatrical is committed to building a team of professionals who support each other's development.
