Position Overview:

BOOP Touring LLC is seeking a Non-Equity Assistant Stage Manager for their touring production of BOOP! The Musical. Based on characters created by Max Fleischer, Betty Boop longs for an ordinary day off from fame in her black-and-white world. What she finds is an extraordinary adventure of color, music, and love in New York City!
The Assistant Stage Manager supports and assists the Production Stage Manager with managing and maintaining the creative aspects of the show and is an integral part of the road management team for the tour. Theatrical touring experience preferable.

Role and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Assisting the Production Stage Manager in:
o Maintaining the artistic integrity of the production according to the director's vision.
o Managing rehearsal process (replacements and current cast)
o Updating technical documentation
o Managing/running technical rehearsals
o Scheduling daily, weekly and long-term aspects of the show
o Drafting and proofing reports
- Calls all show cues, including deck, rail, automation, lighting, and audio.
- Run and maintain several deck tracks ensuring safety of actors and crew and training local crew members on cues
- Ability to run focus (both conventional and moving light) in coordination with the road and local electricians
- Maintain a positive attitude and demeanor as a member of the road management team.
- Adhere to and uphold show safety protocols and drug free workplace policies.
- Other duties as assigned, depending on show-specific needs.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum 1-3 years stage management experience, preferably on tour.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with co-workers and venue personnel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to maintain poise and control under pressure.
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a demanding workload.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Dropbox

Work Environment:

This role is expected to help create a professional work environment and is required to work in a variety of locations and venues. Must be able to travel, and work evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to adapt to multiple buildings / theater venues. Must be able to be on their feet throughout the show and traverse several flights of stairs. Must be able to travel in multiple modes of transportation, including planes, trains, charter and sleeper coaches, and cars.

Salary / Benefits / Travel + Housing:

- Performance Salary starting at $1,100/week and commensurate with experience. Rehearsal/Prep Salary starting at $900/week.
- Assistant Stage Manager also receives a percentage of Producer's share of overage, single occupancy housing, weekly expense allowance of $315 per week, health plan, and producer-provided transportation.
