The Scenic Carpenter is responsible for the construction, installation, and maintenance of
all scenic elements for The Little Theatre On The Square+rsquo;s 2026 Summer Stock season. This
position reports directly to the Technical Director and works closely with the production
and technical staff to ensure the successful execution of all scenic designs.
Position Qualifications
● Experience in theatrical carpentry, woodworking, framing, and finish carpentry
● Training and experience in the safe operation of stationary, portable power tools, and
hand tools
● Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and working plans
● Basic knowledge of rigging
● Strong time management, multitasking, problem-solving, and communication skills
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and rapidly changing environment
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team; must be a
self-starter
Physical Requirements
● Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
● Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform physical labor for 8+ hours per day
● Ability to work at heights, including on ladders up to 12 feet and in elevated positions up
to 17 feet
● Valid driver+rsquo;s license with a clean driving record and the ability to be insured under the
theatre+rsquo;s vehicle policy
