Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre is a professional summer stock company on the campus of Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. SSMT produces 3 full-scale musicals each season; 2026 is GUYS AND DOLLS, SHE LOVES ME, and BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL.

SSMT is a professional company with an educational mission. All positions are paid, and all departments have an intern or entry level position geared to undergrads seeking professional experience early in their career trajectory. The entire company averages 150-175 members, ranging from interns working their first professional contract to seasoned industry leaders with regional theatre and Broadway experience.

The Assistant Properties Coordinator will work closely with the Properties Coordinator, Properties Intern, Technical Director, Scenic Designers, creative teams, and other technical employees to source, create, and alter all properties and set decoration required for the three productions. Shops are open 5 days a week, work is estimated to be 40-44 hours per week.

Housing is provided in a private room/private bath university dorm room within walking distance of the theatre. Travel to and from the area is the responsibility of the artist, but SSMT can assist with ground transportation from local airports/train station with notice.
