Supervisor: Costume Shop Manager
Location: Harrison Opera House, Norfolk, Virginia
FLSA Status: Seasonal Full-Time Salary
Salary: $950-975/Week (25 Weeks)
Dates: 9/7/26-11/29/26; 12/28/26-3/28/27


Position Overview
-Qualified candidates should exhibit attention to detail and be able to prioritize and execute tasks accurately in a fast-paced work environment.
-Applicant must have good communication skills and the ability to work with designers, singers, and other shop staff.

Job Responsibilities
-Flat pattern making + draping for 3-show opera season, to also include a scenes program and children+rsquo;s show.
-Instruct others in tools, materials, techniques and practices.
-Availability to work evenings and weekends during heavy build + tech periods.

Qualifications
-Previous theatrical costume experience required.
-Working knowledge of costume + fashion history.
-Knowledge + experience in a variety of costume construction techniques + materials.
-Experience with domestic + industrial sewing machines + sergers.
-Expert in alterations.
-Proficient in hand sewing.

Employment Requirements
-Must have a valid driver+rsquo;s license and reliable transportation.
-Completion of Background and DMV check.
-References required.
