The Great River Shakespeare Festival is looking for a Wardrobe Supervisor for this upcoming repertory season of Pericles and A Midsummer Nights Dream. Must be available from 6/02/2026-7/29/2026. Housing is included.
The Wardrobe Supervisor begins their work in the costume shop, becoming familiar with the costume pieces and creating paperwork based on costume plots and actor tracking. The position then shifts during tech and performances to running a wardrobe track backstage alongside two Costume Apprentices who the Wardrobe Supervisor leads.
Job duties include:
- Create wardrobe paperwork including check in/out sheets, costume plot, quick change timings etc.
- Attend designer runs, technical rehearsals, production meetings (as needed), and all performances
- Oversee and execute the maintenance and cleaning of all costume pieces throughout the season
- Schedule, supervise and mentor the Costume Apprentices for the main stage productions
- Assign specific wardrobe duties to Costume Apprentices, ie costume changes, laundry, pressing etc.
- Uphold the designer's vision during the run of the show.
- Purchase cleaning, hair, makeup, and other consumable supplies (ie tights) as needed during the run of the shows.
Qualifications:
This job requires someone who is punctual, able to take direction, works well with a team, is detail oriented, works well under pressure, and can lead others effectively.
- At least three years of collegiate or professional experience working in a costume shop or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and ability to use costume shop equipment such as sergers, sewing machines etc. safely
- Organizational and time management skills
- Leadership experience preferred
