Shakespeare Theatre Company, a training ground for the next generation of theatre artists, advocates, and educators, seeks Student Teachers to join a passionate team of change-makers and community-builders for Camp Shakespeare 2026. Camp Shakespeare runs mid-June through mid-August, with two-week sessions (Monday through Friday) for youth and teens ages 6 to 18. Returning teens can audition for a three-week Intensive. At Camp Shakespeare, students transform into Shakespeare+rsquo;s characters through voice, movement, and imagination; unlock Shakespeare+rsquo;s language through text analysis; develop acting skills for their level of experience; learn the safety and storytelling of stage combat; and perform for friends and family onstage with STC. Student Teachers are college students interested in exploring careers in theatre education, and early career teaching artists with less than two years+rsquo; experience. Student Teachers are paid $18.50 per hour; they are guaranteed 22 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours working after-care.
Ideal candidates enjoy working with young people; are reliable, enthusiastic team players familiar with the works of Shakespeare; will be available to attend trainings June 15-18 and to facilitate camp during program hours; have experience creating safe, inclusive, and fun learning environments; value accessibility, collaboration, and high-quality arts experiences.
