Sound Manager - PlayMakers Repertory Company (LORT D), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, seeks a highly motivated + experienced Sound Manager for the remainder of our 25-26 season and beyond. PRC produces a 7-show main stage season in the Paul Green Theatre, a thrust stage, and a 3-show Second Stage series in the Kenan Theatre, a flexible space, on the Campus of the University of North Carolina. Applicants should have a BA/BFA preferably in Theatre Arts, and 2-3 years of relevant experience. Successful candidates will have excellent collaboration with designers and directors, scheduling/planning, computer, and organizational/communication skills. Working knowledge of SFX, QLab, Pro Tools, Logic, Audacity and DANTE, digital consoles, recording, current technologies, wireless operation, clear com systems, live mixing and reinforcement, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting is a must. Responsibilities include Sound Engineer for all productions, load in and strike, designing, recording and or mixing of PRC shows, supervision of sound budget, sound system maintenance, and some supervision of student sound designers and engineers for departmental productions. Ability to work with and train sound operators drawn from undergraduate students is required. Position may include classroom teaching as part of the contractual duties. Start date is negotiable. Salary range: $41,379 - $52,000, paid monthly, health + retirement included.
