Position: Scenic Carpenter
Reports to: Technical Director
Status: Seasonal, Salaried
Dates: March 30, 2026 to June 26, 2026 (date range negotiable)
Salary Range: $714.00 per week, plus housing provided by APT

American Players Theatre is currently seeking applicants for the position of Scenic Carpenter.

JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES: Assist in the construction, alteration, maintenance and repair of scenic elements for the 2026 Season. Provide carpentry assistance for stage repair as directed by the Technical Director. Some changeover assistance and production facility construction/ repair work possible. Attend all work calls as directed by the Technical Director. Other duties as assigned by APT's Technical Director.
Work hours average 45 hours per week between a climate-controlled scene shop, our indoor stage, and our outdoor stage. Carpenter candidates should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ideally, they would have the ability to lift and move materials up to 75 pounds in weight independently. It is also preferred that they have skill in MIG Welding.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the construction of scenic elements
Provide carpentry assistance for stage repair as directed
Provide load in assistance as needed
Work safely and attend safety trainings as directed by the Technical Director
Attend all work calls as directed by the Technical Director
Other duties as assigned
